later this year yahoo! plans to lay to rest geocities.com -- which yahoo bought for 2.9Billion dollars in 1999, when that was considered a lot of money. geocities use to be a pretty popular place for self expression. it was a place where you could set up your own website, before the days of blogs, facebook, and twitter. i made my first website on geocities back in 1998 when I was like in the 7th or 8th grade. it was an anime site, how embarassingly dorky.
